Established in 2007, Gold Investment Management Ltd. is a registered portfolio manager offering exchange traded fund (ETF) model portfolios, equity, fixed income and alternative asset management services to individuals, corporations, pension funds, charitable foundations, and trusts. Gold Investment Management Ltd. serves clients in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec. The company also serves clients in the United States and is licensed as a registered investment adviser with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The minimum investment size for new accounts is $100,000 of investable, household assets.
About Jonathon Gold
Actively engaged in the investment business since 1987, Jonathon founded Gold Investment Management Ltd. in 2007. Prior to this, Jonathon established Gold Investment Advisory, an Edmonton-based full-service investment advisory firm. From 2002 to 2007, Jonathon was President, Co-Founder, and Director of Edmonton-based investment manager, Global Wealth Builders Ltd. In 2000, Jonathon was President and Chief Financial Officer of TradeFreedom Securities, an independent investment dealer offering electronic trading facilities. In 1993, Jonathon began trading equities and options for TD Waterhouse, eventually becoming Head Liability Trader for the institutional equity trading department of Toronto-based investment dealer, CT Securities. His broad experience includes security analysis and research, reporting to several major Canadian pension funds. He began his career serving in several capacities with the Royal Bank of Canada.
Jonathon obtained his Bachelor of Commerce, Major in Finance, from Concordia University in Montreal. He holds the designations of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Investment Manager, Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute, and Derivatives Market Specialist. He holds memberships with the CFA Institute, Edmonton CFA Society, and Investment Funds Institute of Canada. Jonathon’s passions include hiking, running and analyzing real estate investment trusts (REITs). Born and raised in Montreal, Jonathon currently resides in Edmonton with his wife Christine.
